Smokey and Bandit

Name: Smokey and Bandit Gender: Male Age: 1.5 years Color: Black & white, Brown tabby w/white Description: DSH See the story of Bandit's survival here . They would like to be adopted together. They are about 18 months old. Bandit is friendly and social while Smokey is a little more shy. They are really bonded and a loving two-some.

Ivy, Teasel

Name: Ivy, Teasel Gender: 1 boys, 1 girl Age: 8 weeks (on 5/10) Color: Black w/white Description: DSH The kittens from left to right are Rose, Ivy, Teasel and Aster. Aster and Rose are adopted. Rose is a little lady until she starts wrestling with her brothers. When she's worn out, she loves to cuddle with her foster mom and show her contentment with purrs. Ivy is a meek little girl who prefers to watch her brothers and Rose wrestle from the sidelines. When her siblings are playing too rough, she will cry for "mom" to pick her up. She purrs and purrs when cuddled. Teasel is a curious young boy who wants to always be part of the action. If he sees his "foster siblings" walking around the house he squirms to get down. He hates to think he is missing out on play time! Aster is the leader of the litter. He loves to play with his siblings and tries to ensure that everyone is playing!

Lilly

Name: Lilly Gender: Female Age: 8 months Color: Brown tabby Description: DSH Lilly is about 8 months old and is a spayed female. She is a petite little girl with a baby face that makes you melt. She is on the shy side and prefers not to be held but has learned to enjoy being pet. She LOVES to play and will run around chasing her toy mice, tinsel balls, laser lights...anything that moves...with endless energy. She adores other cats and has quickly made friends with all of the cats in her foster home. Her foster mom frequently finds her curled up sleeping with 1 or both of her foster sisters. Thus, Lilly would make a great companion to another cat. Since Lilly is still shy, she will need her mom and/or dad to be willing to give her time to get to know them and will need someone who will continue to give her encouragement to come out of her shell. She would do best in a quieter home without small children or dogs.

Chessie

Name: Chessie Gender: Female Age: Young Color: Black & white Description: DSH Chessie was out just before Thanksgiving begging to come into somone's condo from cold and hunger. She came readily to our volunteers who were rescuing her. She loves to talk and be petted She also loves to knead with her paws. She would make a great cat for anyone who has lots of affection and attention to give. She is micro-chipped.

Buddy

Name: Buddy Gender: Male Age: 8-10 years Color: Black & white Description: DSH Buddy is a neutered male between 8 and 10 years old. He has all his claws and is very sweet. He is missing most of his teeth but eats with no problem. He may have to have one more pulled but is okay now. He loves to have his chin rubbed and throws himself down on his back when he wants attention. He enjoys looking out the window and is very comfortable with dogs, cats, and children. He gets runny eyes and it looks kind of rusty but all we do is clean them with a moist warm cloth and he is fine. His vision is fine and he is a very big, healthy guy. Might you be his forever home ?

Cadi

Name: Cadi Gender: Female Age: 5 months Color: Brown tabby Description: DSH Cadi is a sweet, loving kitten born June 13th, so she is about 5 months old now. Cadi needs a special home as she has a heart murmur. This defect does not affect her in any way at this time. In time, her condition will need some monitoring with scans and medication. Due to her heart defect, we need someone with a really big heart to let her into their life. We have no idea what her lifespan will be. When anyone adopts any animal be it a dog or a cat, you never know how healthy that animal will be in future years. With Cadi, we know she has the heart murmur, we know what she needs medically, and we know she is a loving kitten deserving of a special home. She presently lives with another cat in her foster home. Do you have what it takes to give a sweet kitten like this a home? Whoever adopts her will be a very special person that can open their heart to give her a wonderful home and the care she needs.

Kissy

Name: Kissy Gender: Female Age: 1-2 years Color: White Description: DSH Kissy was found outside in the cold in a wooded area of Des Plaines. She had one lone kitten with her. She is a solid white beauty with green eyes. She loves to be petted and held. You can easily scoop up her little 7 pound body for hugs. She loves to give nose kisses too.

Holly

Name: Holly Gender: Female Age: 4 months on 12/1 Color: Brown tabby Description: DSH She is a sleek brown tabby with spots. She loves to play, be held, purr, and play with other cats She needs a home with another kitty to play with. She is a little uneasy around a lot of noise so a quiet home or one with less activity would be best for her. Holly has been spayed.

Kiaba

Name: Kiaba Gender: Male Age: 1.5 year Color: Gray Description: DSH Kiaba is about 1.5 years old. He likes other cats and would make a great companion cat. He is good with small dogs as well.

Thumper

Name: Thumper Gender: Female Age: 2 year Color: Brown tabby Description: DSH Thumper about 2 years old. She is very playful and very loving. Thumper is a special needs kitty who has a heart murmer. She is a lap cat and loves to be carried around and will chase most anything. Thumper will do well with another cat once she gets to know them. She is used to older children (8 and up) and is used to dogs too. Thumper is Angel's sister.

Angel

Name: Angel Gender: Female Age: 2 year Color: Brown tabby Description: DSH Angel is about 2 years old. She is a petite brown tabby. Angel is one of our special needs kitties. She has a heart murmur and needs medication 2x a day. Second Chance Pet Adoption will give some assistance with her medication for 1 year after she is adopted.
